GOOD TO KNOW: OUR FAVORITE INDOOR PLANTS

CASUAL AND TIMELESS INTERIOR PLANTS

FIDDLE-LEAF FIG

Fiddle-leaf figs are possibly the most trendy and beautiful plants for interiors, but they are also the most particular about their environment and need daily attention. Despite their neediness, we love them anyway. We used a fiddle-leaf fig in our latest Orchard Hollow project. We added it to the dining room which really created warmth within the space.

  • Prolonged Direct Sunlight.

  • Water once a week.

  • Let top layer of soil dry in-between waterings.

  • Clean leaves with small, wet towelette to keep them fresh.

SNAKE PLANT

Snake plants bring a fun and unique texture to your home. If you struggle with that dreaded brown thumb, this plant is the right plant for you. With little to no maintenance, the snake plant is nearly indestructible. Snake plants can be neglected for weeks at a time and still shine strongly in your home. We recommend using Snake Plants in bedrooms, kitchens, or in lower light spaces. This will help add texture to those spaces that feel more dark and neglected. We used a snake plant in our Sunrise Drive project to spice up a boy’s bedroom.

RUBBER TREE

Rubber trees are unique with their dreamy dark tones that wrap themselves between leaves. We love to use rubber trees because they are one of the most sophisticated house plants out there. They add depth and peace to any home. We recommend using rubber trees in spaces like living rooms, entryways, offices, and dining rooms; basically, anywhere with ample light. Rubber trees are tall and can grow to be beautiful pieces in your home with the proper care.

FERN

Who doesn’t love a good fern? Ferns are one of our favorite plants because they are so lush and airy. Ferns help make a space inviting and draw warmth into the home. The shade is a better place for ferns, which makes them a great addition to entryways and office spaces. They thrive in cooler atmospheres with indirect sunlight. We used a fern in the entryway of our Dallas project, and it added so much warmth to the space!

OLIVE TREE

Next to the word “classy” in the Interior Design dictionary (that does not exist but should), there is a picture of an olive tree. These trees are truly our favorite indoor plants for the spaces we create. There is something so timeless about olive trees. Their delicate leaves add texture and warmth without being overbearing. We used an olive tree in the master bedroom of our Sunrise Drive project. It really completed the space!
